Quick answer: Lyonesse 2.0.4 adds live translated captions, custom vocabulary, a clean verbatim view and dictation into any Mac app. It also stops audio from going to Apple's servers unless you switch that on for a language, and it keeps recovered recordings instead of deleting them.
Live translated captions
Pick a language and the translation appears under the live transcript while people speak. It runs on your device with Apple's Translation framework. It's off by default, and a language pack only downloads after you say yes.
Custom vocabulary
Add names, product terms and jargon, and Lyonesse uses them when it transcribes. If your meetings are full of words a general model has never seen, this is the setting to fill in first.
Clean verbatim
Turn on a view that hides the ums and ahs. Your original transcript isn't changed, and the cleaned version carries into exports.
Dictate into any Mac app
Hold a shortcut, speak, and the text is pasted where your cursor is. It's off by default and the speech is transcribed on your Mac. You'll find the switch in Settings under "Dictate into any app".
Audio stays on your device unless you say otherwise
Lyonesse uses Apple's on-device speech models for most languages. A few languages have no on-device model, and until now Apple could handle those in the cloud without Lyonesse asking you. In 2.0.4 that no longer happens. For those languages, Lyonesse now tells you the language isn't available on the device instead of uploading anything.
If you prefer the upload to a refusal, open Settings, then Transcription Language, and turn on "Allow Apple servers for this language". It's off by default, it applies to one language at a time, and it stays on that device. Lyonesse has no servers of its own that receive your audio.
Recovered recordings are kept, not deleted
If Lyonesse closes unexpectedly mid-recording, the audio is saved and picked up the next time you open the app. Before 2.0.4, a recording left for more than a week was cleaned up automatically. Now it appears in your library as a card: "A recording from (date) was found", with Keep as Note and Delete. Deleting asks you to confirm, because the audio can't be brought back afterwards.
If you ignore the card, the recording waits for you. It's only removed after it has gone unanswered for another 30 days.
What hasn't changed
Recording, transcription, summaries, speaker labels and Q&A still run on your device. iCloud sync is optional and off by default. When you turn it on, your notes are stored in your own iCloud account.
